Rhetorical Devices is a set of 9 miniature movements for violin and piano named after different methods of communication. Some are oral traditions like “Bicker” and “Sermon” while others are text-based, like the two “Tweet” movements that were both limited to 140 characters to match the rules of Twitter. It is possible to do a shorter version of Rhetorical Devices by removing movements in consultation with the composer.
